A really beautiful and rare, good quality19th century French coromandel veneered perfume casket, containing two cut glass perfume bottles. Original lock and key.
The top has an inset mother of pearl shield shaped cartouche, which complements a similar shaped escutcheon. The brass hinged top opens to reveal two cut glass perfume bottles that fit in their own cobalt blue velvet lined compartments.
The perfume bottles are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. The casket has been sympathetically cleaned, re-waxed and polished. The coromandel veneer is in fine condition with no repairs. Slight age related cracks to the top which is to be expected. In overall excellent condition.
Measurements: 14.2 cm wide, 7.6 cm deep and 13.7 cm high.

  • Cleaned and restored to a high standard. All you need to do is wipe over with a soft cloth from time to time. You can occasionally use a spray furniture polish that contains bees wax, which will maintain its satin sheen. Please don’t use a silicone spray as this could be detrimental to the waxed surface.
